Saturday Highlights

The East Cut CBD and Transbay Joint Powers Authority transform the elevated urban oasis of Salesforce Park into a spring celebration featuring egg hunts strategically timed by age group, ensuring developmentally appropriate fun for all little hunters.

Worth Knowing: 

  • 10:00am-1:00pm

  • Free admission but RSVP required for egg hunts

    • 10:30am (Ages 0-4)

    • 11:30am (Ages 5-7)

ArtSeed's 17th annual creative marathon brings together artists of all ages and abilities for a six-hour explosion of creativity that combines environmental awareness with artistic expression in the stunning Presidio.

Worth Knowing: 

  • 10:00am-4:00pm

  • Suggested donations: $20 adults/ $10 children, students and seniors. No one turned away for lack of funds.

  • All ages and skill levels welcome

  • Live music throughout the day

  • Free food and beverages provided

  • Art supplies available

  • Located in the Tides Converge building in the Presidio

Pro move: Register in advance and collect pledges from family and friends for each hour you create art—it's a fundraiser that teaches kids about community support while they have fun. Plan to spend at least two hours here for the full experience, which allows time for experimentation with different art forms and mediums. Combine with a morning visit to the nearby Presidio Tunnel Tops for a perfect day of outdoor exploration and creative expression.

The San Francisco Zoo's Easter celebration combines the beloved tradition of meeting the Easter Bunny with all of the fun of exploring at the zoo.

  • Located in the Sculpture Garden near Elinor Friend Playground

  • Regular Zoo admission applies ($25 adults, $18 children 4-14, under 4 free)

  • Photo opportunities throughout the event

Pro move: Arrive right at 10am for minimal lines to meet the Easter Bunny, then explore the Zoo while other families are still in the photo line. The Elinor Friend Playground adjacent to the event area provides a perfect energy-burning opportunity before or after the structured activities. Plan to spend the full day at the Zoo to maximize your admission fee, the Easter activities serve as a perfect break between animal viewing sessions. Don’t forget to ride the train!

The festival's highlight event brings Japanese culture to life with spectacular floats, traditional dance groups, martial arts demonstrations, and the beloved taiko drummers whose powerful rhythms can be felt as much as heard.

Pro move: Secure a viewing spot by 12:30pm, especially if you have small children who need front-row visibility. If watching with young children, position yourself near the beginning of the route (closest to Civic Center) for shorter wait times and the option to join the parade's tail end for the journey to Japantown.

Creativity Festival at Children's Creativity Museum (April 26) The annual hands-on celebration returns to the Children's Creativity Museum with interactive stations, technology workshops, and creative challenges designed for young innovators.
